Free $24k for downpayment...really!

Really. I'm not kidding.

Saskatchewan Housing has just confirmed that we can pre-qualify buyers under the Secondary Suites program for a forgivable loan of up to $24,000. In exchange for the forgiveable loan, the buyer has to agree to the following conditions:
- rent the suite to a person with income under $44,500/yr ($52k/yr with dependants)
- rent the suite at or below their prescribed rates (currently $790/mo)

The loan is then written off over the following 10 years as long as you adhere to the two conditions above.
