Four Architects Design the Green House of the Future

Under My Skin

Jetson Green just posted: Four Architects Design the Green House of the Future.

I slide between the The Incredible Edible House (rad name!) and Under My Skin. McDonough's "Branching Out" is of course hyper intensive but also very site specific. Not really something you could stick on your typical urban infill.

Whatch-you think? I know - The Shift Home isn't included in the poll, but these are some superb alternatives. Link over and cast your vote on the poll.

According to my own exploration, billions of people all over the world get the home loans at different banks. Hence, there's a good possibility to get a short term loan in every country.

Very Creative, But Livable?

The creative genius shines through in each, but for me the Mouzon design resonates the most. Growing and harvesting tomatoes off an 80% grade seems like a harsh challenge- perhaps ideally suited for organically inclined gardening competition rock-climbers. The Under My Skin design sort of gets under mine a bit too far- the ambiguity of the walls juxtaposed with the very crisp, boxy shape just doesn't work for me. And the House Like a Tree is intriguing to look at, but for all its elements doesn't feel as connected as it looks. I feel like that sod staircase is about to collapse into that perfectly square pool. Although a boon for landscapers everywhere, I wouldn't want to mow it.

What about the Mouzon? Well, for me it seems like it is comfortable, workable, and completely in reach of current building technologies. It seems more grounded, which for me makes it feel more connected to people and actual lives and possibilities.
